(#62) 10 Important Life Lessons & Mindset Shifts from 2024

10 Important Life Lessons from 2024: My Top Mantras

What This Year Taught Me About Confidence, Growth, and Letting Go

2024 was a year of transformation. A year of learning, unlearning, and stepping into my power. These are the 10 biggest lessons I’m taking with me—and I hope they inspire you to step boldly into your next chapter.

1. I’m Capable of Anything Until Proven Otherwise

No more self-doubt. No more disqualifying myself before I even try. If something feels scary, it’s not because I’m incapable—it’s just unfamiliar. And the only way to change that? Take action.

2. Don’t Waste Today’s Energy on Tomorrow’s Problems

Fear is just a negative thought about something that hasn’t even happened yet. Instead of spiraling in what-ifs, I choose curiosity. What if it works out? What if I surprise myself?

3. Prioritize Fulfillment Over People-Pleasing

No one has ever died from disappointing others, but something inside you does die every time you say yes when you really mean no. As a first daughter, I was carrying everyone else’s burdens. Now? My energy is mine to protect.

4. All Work Works—Even When It Doesn’t Feel Like It

Every effort you make is either working for you or on you. The results may not always be immediate, but trust me, nothing is wasted. Keep going.

5. Readiness Comes After You Start, Not Before

Waiting to feel “ready” is a trap. Readiness comes from doing, not from overthinking. You’ll never control every outcome, so stop making excuses and just begin. Clarity comes with action.

6. What Does Your Soul Need?

Before asking what needs to be done, I ask what my soul needs. Prioritizing my mental, spiritual, and physical well-being over relentless productivity has changed everything.

7. Procrastination Is Short-Term Comfort, Long-Term Pain

Avoiding the work feels good now, but the regret of not taking action lasts much longer. Most tasks I feared actually took less time than I spent dreading them. Lesson learned: Just start.

8. Set Goals, But Don’t Attach to the Outcome

Every goal takes you on a journey that forces you to evolve. Focus on the process, not just the result. Growth is the real win.

9. You’re Not an Imposter—You Just Have Unrealistic Standards

Competence isn’t about knowing everything or never struggling. It’s about being resourceful, adaptable, and committed to growth.

  • Competence is not about knowing it all, overworking yourself, or being perfect all the time.

  • True competence means being resourceful, continuously learning, striving for progress (not perfection), collaborating with others, and navigating challenges with determination.

10. Manifest, Believe, Let Go

See it. Believe it. Write it. Speak it. Repeat it. Then detach from the outcome and trust that what’s meant for you will find you in the right timing.

Final Thoughts: Strength in Every Chapter

Life will challenge you. It will change you. But you have a choice in how you respond.

Your Challenge: Reflect on how you define confidence. Is it tied to external validation, or does it come from within? This week, show up for yourself in a new way—whether that’s sharing your truth, embracing change, or giving yourself permission to be exactly who you are.Perfectionism keeps you in fear. Confidence moves you forward. Choose confidence.
